Amazon Prime Instant Video in the UK has celebrated its first birthday with the acquisition of US drama Outlander.
The VoD platform has picked up the first and second seasons of the Starz series, based on the books by Diana Gabaldon.
The story follows the story of Claire, a married World War Two nurse who is thrown back in time from 1945 into an unknown world, set in 1743.
The cast includes Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, with Tobias Menzies, Graham McTavish, Gary Lewis, Lotte Verbeek, Duncan Lacroix, Stephen Walters, and Annette Badland.
It is executive produced by Ronald D Moore, and comes from Tall Ship Productions, Story Mining and Supply Company, and Left Bank Pictures in association with Sony Pictures Television, which also distributed the series.
The first eight episodes of season one, filmed in Scotland, will launch to subscribers on March 26.
The remaining episodes will then launch weekly from April 5, just hours after the US broadcast.
Season two is due to begin filming this summer.
