Vikings renewed for season four

Historical drama Vikings will return for a fourth season.



US cable channel History has ordered another run of the series, which portrays the life of Vikings in the Dark Ages.

It stars Travis Fimmel, Clive Standen, Katheryn Winnick, and Alexander Ludwig.

Vikings is created by writer Michael Hirst, who executive produces with Morgan O’Sullivan, Sheila Hockin, John Weber, Sherry Marsh, Alan Gasmer, and James Flynn.

The series is produced by World 2000, and Take 5 Productions. It also airs on History in Canada.

Production on season four will begin this spring in Ireland. It is due to air in 2016.

MGM Television distributes Vikings outside Ireland and Canada.
