TNT readies summer schedule

US cable network TNT is preparing for summer with three new series and the final season of sci-fi drama Falling Skies.

Public Morals makes its debut alongside Proof, and Cold Justice: Sex Crimes, alongside returning series Major Crimes, Murder in the First, Rizzoli & Isles, The Last Ship, Cold Justice, and Legends.

Season four of Major Crimes continues the story of a squad of detectives working alongside prosecutors to get a conviction. The cast includes Mary McDonnell, GW Bailey, Tony Denison, Michael Paul Chan, Raymond Cruz, Kearran Giovanni, Phillip P Keene, Robert Gossett, and Jonathan Del Arco.

Major Crimes is produced by The Shephard/Robin Company and Walking Entropy, in association with Warner Bros Television. James Duff, Greer Shephard, Michael M Robin, Rick Wallace, Adam Belanoff and Leo Geter executive produce.

Murder in the First returns for a second season, once again taking viewers inside a complex murder investigation. It stars Taye Diggs and Kathleen Robertson.

Co-created by Steven Bochco and Eric Lodal, they executive produce for TNT Originals.

Crime-solving duo Rizzoli & Isles are back for a sixth season, again pairing a Boston police detective with a medical examiner. It stars Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander.

Rizzoli & Isles is produced by Warner Horizon Television and Bill Haber’s Ostar Productions, with Haber and showrunner Jan Nash executive producing. The show was developed by Janet Tamaro and is based on the novels by Tess Gerritsen.

Proof is about a brilliant surgeon who is persuaded by a cancer-striken billionaire to investigate cases of reincarnation, near-death experiences, hauntings and other phenomena, in the search for evidence that death is not the end. It stars Jennifer Beals, Matthew Modine, David Sutcliffe, and Joe Morton.

The series is produced by TNT, with Kyra Sedgwick, Rob Bragin, Tom Jacobson, Jill Littman and Alex Graves executive producing.

The Last Ship sets sail on its second season as the crew of the USS Nathan James confront their existence as survivors of a global pandemic. It stars Eric Dane, Rhona Mitra, and Adam Baldwin.

Based on William Brinkley’s novel, it is produced by Platinum Dunes, with Jack Bender, Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form executive producing with co-creators and showrunners Hank Steinberg and Steven Kane.

The fifth and final season of Falling Skies closes the story of life and survival in the wake of a catastrophic alien invasion. It stars Noah Wyle, Moon Bloodgood, and Will Patton.

The show is produced by Amblin Television, with executive producers Steven Spielberg, Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, and David Eick.

Real-life crime series Cold Justice returns for a third season, following investigators as they dig into unsolved murder cases. It stars Kelly Siegler, and Yolanda McClary.

Cold Justice is produced by Wolf Reality and Magical Elves. Dick Wolf, Dan Cutforth,  Jane Lipsitz, and Tom Thayer are the executive producers.

In spin-off Cold Justice: Sex Crimes, prosecutors Casey Garrett and Alicia O’Neill travel to small towns in the US to help solve cases that have sat dormant for years.

Season two of Legends continues the story of an undercover operative (Sean Bean) who has learned he isn’t the man he believed himself to be.

It is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios, with Howard Gordon and showrunner Ken Biller executive producing.

Another new series, Public Morals, is a police drama following the Public Morals Division, which investigates vice crimes in 1960s New York. It stars writer and executive producer Edward Burns, Michael Rapaport, and Elizabeth Masucci.
