Channel 4 spin-off More4 continues to build its foreign-language slate with the acquisition of Norwegian drama Kampen om tungtvannet (aka Heavy Water War).
The six-part series is based on the Nazi’s efforts to develop an atom bomb and the Allies’ desperate struggle to prevent it during World War Two.
The story includes the dramatic attempts to blow up the heavy water factor in the Norwegian mountains in 1943.The series debuted on NRK in January, with 1.2 million people watching the first two episodes.
It stars Espen Kloumann Høiner, Dennis Storhøi, Christoph Bach, and Anna Friel.
Filmkameratene, NRK, Sebasto Film & TV, and Headline Pictures produce, with executive producers John M Jacobsen, Sveinung Golimo, Marcus Brodersen, Morten Fisker, Stewart Mackinnon, and Tone Rønning.
Kampen om tungtvannet will air on More4 later this year.
