M Night Shyamalan’s suspense thriller Wayward Pines has been sold to five new broadcasters.
The ten-part series has been picked up by City TV in Canada, Sky in New Zealand, Star World in India, DBS in Israel, and Filmbox in Romania, following deals with Fox International Channels Content Sales.
It will also air on new Canadian VoD platform Shomi.
They will all join Fox in the US, Fox International Channels worldwide, and Canal+ in France for the global launch on May 14, which will create the largest scripted drama launch in television history.
Wayward Pines stars Matt Dillon as a secret service agent who arrives in the titular town on a mission to find two missing federal agents. Each step closer to the truth takes him further from the life he knew, from the husband and father he was, until he must face the terrifying reality that he may never get out of Wayward Pines alive.
The cast also includes Melissa Leo, Toby Jones, Terrence Howard, and Juliette Lewis.
Based on the book by Blake Crouch and developed for television by Chad Hodge, it is produced by FX Productions.
Shyamalan executive produces with Hodge, Donald De Line, and Ashwin Rajan.
