US drama Power is heading to Germany after it was picked up by AXN.
The series stars Omari Hardwick as a night club owner and powerful drug lord, James “Ghost” St. Patrick, who lives between two contrary worlds – torn between good and evil.
It is executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, showrunner Courtney Kemp Agboh, David Knoller, Mark Canton, and Randall Emmett. Starz produces the series in association with CBS Television Studios.
AXN, owned by Sony Pictures Television Networks, acquired the series from Starz Worldwide Distribution, the sales arm of US premium cable channel Starz.
Power will debut on AXN on July 20.

Evil Dead alumni Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Bruce Campbell are now on set for the Starz adaptation of the cult horror franchise.

Production has begun on the ten-part first season of Ash vs Evil Dead, which is being filmed in New Zealand and will air this autumn on the US premium cable channel.
Campbell reprises his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons – personal and literal.
The cast also includes Lucy Lawless, Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo, and Jill Marie Jones.
Raimi, Tapert, Campbell and showrunner Craig DiGregorio will executive produce the series.
Raimi, Ivan Raimi, DiGregorio, and Tom Spezialy wrote the first episode. Ivan Raimi is co-executive producer, and Aaron Lam and Chloe Smith are producers.

Starz has released the first artwork for its forthcoming ten-episode series Ash vs Evil Dead.

The half-hour series, due to air on the US premium cable channel later this year, is a follow-up to horror film franchise The Evil Dead.

AXN in Italy has acquired exclusive rights to US drama Power.
The series, due to air launch on May 25, is set in a New York City divided between the luxury world of Manhattan nightclubs and the drug-dealing underworld.
It tells the story of James “Ghost” St Patrick (Omari Hardwick), a man who lives a double life: a nightclub owner and the head of a lucrative drug cartel.
The cast also includes Joseph Sikora, Lela Loren, Naturi Naughton, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
Power is executive produced by Jackson, showrunner Courtney Kemp Agboh, David Knoller, Mark Canton, and Randall Emmett.
Power, which airs on Starz in the US, is distributed by Starz Worldwide Distribution. It is produced by Starz in association with CBS Television Studios.
Sony Pictures Television-owned AXN has also picked up the second season of Power, which will air in Italy in September, and the third season of another Starz series, Black Sails.

Flesh and Bone
The US premium cable network’s latest original drama follows Claire, a young dancer with a distinctly troubled past, who joins a prestigious ballet company in New York.
The eight-part limited series stars Sarah Hay as Claire, with Ben Daniels, and dancers Irina Dvorovenko, Sascha Radetsky, Raychel Diane Weiner, and Emily Tyra.
Flesh and Bone was created by Moira Walley-Beckett, who executive produces with John Melfi, Lawrence Bender, and Kevin Kelly Brown. Ethan Stiefel is the series choreographer.
The series will receive its international premiere at television industry event MipTV in Cannes next month.
Starz Worldwide Distribution is shopping the drama to international channels.

Power season two launches on June 6.
History in the UK and Africa has secured rights to US adventure drama Black Sails.
The series, which airs on Starz, is set 20 years before Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel Treasure Island, and the first 8×60′ season takes place within the lawless society of New Providence Island – home to one of the most notorious pirate captains in history.
The cast includes Toby Stephens as Captain Flint, with Hannah New, Tom Hopper, Clara Paget, Luke Arnold, Toby Schmitz, Zach McGowan, and Jessica Parker Kennedy.
Black Sails was created by Jonathan E Steinberg and Robert Levine, and executive produced by Michael Bay and Platinum Dunes’ Brad Fuller and Andrew Form. Chris Symes and Dan Shotz also executive produce.
A+E Networks UK picked up the series from Starz Worldwide Distribution.
It is due to debut this summer.
The third season began filming in November 2014 in South Africa.
This is the latest acquisition for History in the UK, which previously picked up US drama Vikings.
